Why no blog for a month?

The weather has not been good and I have had lots of hospital appointments which are of no interest to anyone else so I have not updated the blog.
Today was Carnival Day in Bishop's Castle so we picked up our brollies to get out and support this event.  The picture above is of our local samba band leading the procession, they had a new recruit, the chap in the hat and sun glasses is Sticky Wicket, a world class drummer who lives in the town.  He joins Van Morrison's  band when he is on tour in the UK so it was great to see him doing his bit with the locals.

The children in the picture above have been forced to sit on a float by their mums and wave Union Jacks, this years theme is the Olympics probably as a local boy Ollie Morgan is off to Paris to swim in the backstroke.

I still volunteer to do Town Tours and three weeks ago I had a German couple who were a bit over the top.  A couple of days later they published a half hour youtube video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TBJPvcqZLyw) extolling the virtues of Bishop's Castle fortunately without any pictures of me.  So what, you might say but in the next 14 days it has had 55,000 views, who on earth watches this stuff?

The picture below is of a steamer passing our house, the driver is in his early 20's and probably said to his new girlfriend "fancy a drive out in my dads motor", she might have been expecting  something with a roof and no soot.

Normal "holidays every fortnight" resume next week with a few days in Portmeirion, a full report will be published  in due course,
