I am sure you will all be pleased to know it is hot and very sunny here in Greece, today the sky was almost cloudless. I understand this is not the case at the moment in the UK so we took the precaution of booking Easyjet flights home a week later than planned. We still have our flights booked for the 14th in case the weather turns or Boris threatens us with having to stand on the naughty step on our return but we will probably come home on the 21st. Unfortunately that is the last Easyjet flight home from Prevesa, summer will officially be over.

Today we walked from our mountain village across to Makrinitsa which is the epicentre of tourism in these parts. I suppose this area is the equivalent of the Cotswolds to the Greeks and Makrinitsa is its Bourton-on-the-Water.

It is a beautiful village in a stunning setting as I hope these pictures convey but never come here on a Sunday in summer.

Today it was great although considering both villages are at the same altitude there seemed to be a great deal of climbing to get from one to the other. I felt I deserved a beer on our return, Gill ordered a sandwich and an orange juice and I ordered Amstel but that got mis translated as “the same”, so I had to make do with orange which incidently costs more than beer even though oranges grow in abundance in Greece.

Tomorrow we will have another walk in the sunshine and I will post a blog about food which will probably annoy you just as much as all this sunshine did today.
