Today was a glorious day, wall to wall sunshine. We took advantage of this weather and hit the road, or the river, and managed to go uphill through 18 locks many of which were against us, that is full when we arrived, so we needed to empty them. We only saw three other boats and a canoe which were on the move the whole day.
We zoomed through Leicester but saw the sights, the Space Museum (closed) which looks like a big puffer jacket and Leicester City Football Stadium which, like most modern stadiums, looks like an office block from the outside. There was also some very good graffiti / street art.
The area south of Leicester is very rural, few towns and no pubs so we are moored up in a spot which we selected as there are no roads or railways close by.
Dinner on deck in the sunshine, a nice bottle of wine, absolute bliss. It might all go wrong tomorrow when we return to civilisation but at the moment I don’t care.
