So want did we think?

We are now on our way home from an enjoyable five days in London. One of the reasons for going now was that a friend had said it was very quiet due to covid but this was something of an exaggeration as the tube trains were quite busy and as you can see in the picture Chinatown was full at 7pm last night.
We did have an enjoyable meal in a place called Baozilnn which specialises in dumplings. It was good fun, the food was good, the cost per dumpling was exactly the same as the dumplings in Shrewsbury Market which reinforced my opinion that the Shrewsbury dumplings are a little overpriced. I don’t suppose the rents in the market are anywhere close to those in Soho.

As we found in Liverpool a few months ago insisting you pre-book entry to museums and galleries, even when they are free ensures they are not overcrowded, perhaps this requirement should be continued in the future even when the pandemic is finally over.
The crowded tube trains and the dry weather did encourage us to embrace Boris bikes, not something we have bothered with before, they are great, simple to use, cheaper than the tube and in most cases the cycle lanes and pedestrianised streets made the journeys relatively safe. They also encourage you to seek out the back roads which also adds to the interest.

We had a great time, the meal in the Sky Garden was a highlight but every day was enjoyable, we will be back home tonight and can start planning our next adventure wherever that might take us.
