Day 8 - Crop Circles and an Otter

It was one of the hottest days on record in the UK today and it felt like it.
First we tied up at the water point and had to wait for a single chap who seemed to take ages, mind you we take 15 minutes to fill up after only a couple of days. It is amazing how much water we use despite drinking mostly beer and wine.
We then set off along the canal which is now a lot more rural and the banks are overgrown. We have seen plenty of herons but today I think I also saw an otter.

We are now moored up in a village called Honeystreet which is the worlds epicentre for crop circles. The picture is taken from a small exhibition about them.
A consequence of this local phenomena  is the pub and the adjacent camp site is full of New Age Hippies so we fit in well, it is like the Vaults with a garden and a canal outside.

And a miracle occurred, we walked to the local church which is Saxon to find it open!!! Avid readers of our blogs will know how rare this is, Gill was so overcome she even put some money in the collection box.

Tomorrow we carry on going east but will soon need to turn round in order to get back to return the boat in a weeks time.
