Thoughts on Rye

This has been one of the nicest holidays in ages, I am not sure why other than Rye is a friendly place with at least ten good restaurants, they all seem to be busy every night so the people of Rye obviously eat out a great deal. Our B&B was very comfortable and with Folkestone, Hastings and Bodiam within easy reach it was a good central location so we had some enjoyable days out as well as pottering about locally.

We have earmarked the North Kent coast for a Lucas visit in the summer but we might return to south Kent sometime in the future.

One oddity I forgot to mention when we visited Chartwell on Tuesday, the picture shows Churchill and the King and Queen examining the damage caused by a bomb landing on Buckingham Palace, they are all smiling, why would you smile when your house has been hit by a bomb!
