The Birds Nest Cafe in Shrewsbury Market it has won lots of awards, rightly so.

My next round of chemo was at the ungodly hour of 8.30am meaning I had to get up at 7am but it was over by lunchtime giving me an opportunity to treat Mrs Lucas to a slap up meal.

A new (well three years ago) restaurant has opened in Shrewsbury with the unlikely name of Kanu Poké, even more unlikely is that it is vegan, gluten free and no nuts.  What is there left to enjoy?

Well it did serve wine which was a start and the meal was fine but it did lack something, probably meat and gluten; nuts I can live without.

We rather spoilt the healthy eating by having coffee and cake (full of gluten no doubt) and buying a big joint of beef in the fantastic market hall in Shrewsbury.

Next week is Easter so we will probably stay at home, no point in going on holiday when everyone else does.

Royal Cancer

I am sure the Princess of Wales announcing she has cancer will increase the awareness of the disease and help funding into research and I do wish her well as the press have been awful in hounding the poor girl.  Finding you have cancer is not great for a 70 year old like me, for someone in their 40's with three young children it must be awful. The Times dedicated the first five pages to the 340 word announcement on Saturday, why do they feel the have to invent / pad out the news.
