Today we stayed in Ellesmere. Sian, Will, Ellen and Henry came over for the day so we took them for a boat ride up the canal, had a picnic lunch next to a lake and pottered back again.
Many ducks were fed and chased and no one fell in the water so I think the day can be called a success.
I bought nice meat pies and cakes in a deli in the centre of Ellesmere, the law now states that we, the customers, must wear face masks, none of the staff in the deli were wearing any protection nor was there a plastic screen between us and them? How does this fit in with the covid policy?
Tomorrow we head off to either Whitchurch or the other side of a string of six locks a little further along the canal depending on the weather and our moods.
