Another day retracing our steps (what is the boating equivalent “knots” “nautical miles”?) along the Llangollen canal which seems much busier now, perhaps people are finally coming out of lock down.
We stopped off in Whitchurch which had some lovely old buildings and probably an interesting history but being a Sunday afternoon is was dead. The most exciting event in the town was me discovering quite a few trolleys in the Tesco car park where the hirer had not engaged the lock to win back their £1. I had released £2 worth before Gill pointed out the security guard was on his way, a bit of a shame as I reckon there was at least another £4 to be had.
We then managed to get though the 6 locks at Grindley Brook without too much delay before having a very nice pub dinner.
Tomorrow we have a long stretch of not very much to see but plenty of locks, however the weather forecast is not good so we might just stay put.
