Back to the most dangerous airport in the world

Our last trekking day, a very long walk. We left Namche Bazaar at 7.30 and did not arrive at our destination, Lukla airport, until sunset at 5pm. Admittedly we stopped for an hour and a half for lunch because, for the first time ever, a tea house seemed overwhelmed by 10 people turning up.
As always on this trip the scenery has been spectacular. When we stayed in Lukla on the way up we thought the accommodation was a bit rough, now we have been further up the trail we think the guest house in Lukla is first rate, it has wifi, power, cold running water and an en-suite loo. What else could we possibly want? Answer: hot water, toilet paper, a plug, a bath and heating, these luxuries we hope to get in the Hotel Shanker tomorrow in Kathmandu provided the plane manages to get into Lukla airport at 6.30am.

Walking Down
