Gill is quite keen on a TV series called Yorkshire Farm which features a rather good looking woman who met a sheep farmer, married him and proceeded to have 9 children. They live up in the hills above Keld in quite a remote spot about 20 miles from here.
The barn we are renting is rather more stylish than their farmhouse but it is equally remote so today Gill was finding out what it is like to live at the top of the Yorkshire Moors, very windy and wet!
The views look good out of the windows, rolling hills, sheep and highland cattle but step outside and the wind hits you, and this is only November, February might be very challenging. At night the silence is deafening, there was not a sound last night which surprisingly made it hard for me to get to sleep.
The picture shows all 7 grandchildren, Henry, the only boy, seems keen on running away - I don't blame him. They are all back at school now leaving us in peace.
