I am pleased to say that the clouds have now gone and the sun is shining. The forecast is good until we fly home on Wednesday night.
With the nonsense that seems to be happening at home at the moment it would be nice to stay a few more weeks but getting home would be more difficult as all holiday flights finish this week so we would have to go via Athens.
Life in Vasiliki revolves around the harbour, our breakfast in the morning is taken at the tables shown above and this evening the only taverna still open is shown with a collection of cats waiting for any scraps.
As you can imagine it is very stressful so today we did what most people do when visiting Greece, we went to the beach.
The beach next to our village is surrounded by mountains yet somehow is very windy, this is a year round phenomena consequently the main activity is windsurfing but because of the wind it is not a pleasant place to lounge.
So I suggested we cycle along the coast, I had assured Gill that it would be almost level, after all we were starting and ending at sea level. Within 10 minutes Gill was calling into question her marriage vows as well as my parentage as the hill got steeper but eventually we arrived at Agiofili beach which was deserted.
There was one shady spot and two chairs which we commandeered. Just as well as a few minutes later a family of Germans arrived, it was a nice feeling beating them to the sun loungers.
By 2pm there were 20 people and two dogs so we decided to call it day, we like our beaches deserted.
