When in Greece you see a restaurant called “Zorbas” you are inclined to give it a miss but our landlady recommended it. Further research on Trip Advisor revealed it is 1 out of 323 restaurants on the island, I am always a bit suspicious of these rankings but that seemed impressive and only 50 yards from where we are staying.
The cook is Australian, her Greek partner is the waiter and most of the food is cooked in a pizza oven which is double the size of ours, I am afraid to say their pizzas are much better than mine.
We have eaten there for the last two nights, meatballs, mushrooms in sauce, steak and pizza’s they are all good.
They close for the winter after Saturday so we are worried about being fed next week. Gill has threatened eating in but I have vetoed that idea, we don’t eat in on holidays.
Today we explored the other two bays along the bottom of Lefkada and found a really nice village called Sivota which seems to be a mecca for yachts, mind you it is easier to reach by boat than by car. It is in the banner picture at the top of the page.
There were quite a few other nice bays but most are surrounded by half complete holiday homes which are accessed along unmade roads, will they ever be completed or will the empty shells remain a monument to the financial collapse of Greece?
I could not resist photographing the cat on the scooter, we did spot an old chap yesterday riding his motorbike, no crash helmet but he was wearing his mask, now that’s what I call getting your health and safety priorities right. Unfortunately I did not have a camera handy.
