We are now settling into a fixed routine as instead of moving on every couple of days we are staying put for a week. In the last couple of years we have considered renting a house somewhere like Greece for the whole summer but are not sure if we would take to the idea of being stuck in one place so this week could be considered as a bit of an experiment.

When on Tuesday evening we were deciding where to book using Air BnB and Booking.com we shortlisted a few places in Vasiliki but were going round in circles trying to decide which. In the end I got a bit cross so just made the decision and booked it. It could have been a disaster for which Gill would never forgive me but we have struck lucky, we have a beautifully appointed apartment right in the centre of town. All the fittings are top quality, the hosts very helpful, it is quite spacious and has a large balcony overlooking the main street. There are very few cars so it is quiet.

It is on the top floor of the building shown in the picture (that's our balcony you can see) and has a Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream emporium in the same building, just the job when returning home from dinner.

So this morning we set out on the bikes which come as part of the package (not electric I am afraid) to find the places we did not book. They were OK but at the end of town which has already shut down for the winter so would have been a bit depressing.
The picture above shows the bay we are in, the sea really is that colour but I am afraid so is the sky, like Bishop’s Castle we have had some rain today however ours is 10 degrees warmer than at home.

That was after we had sampled the breakfast fare at a taverna next to the harbour, "we don't do breakfast just coffee, yoghurt and honey", Gill had a big smile, I was crestfallen, "but if you like you can buy food in the bakery next door and eat it here" , that was a relief and of course a cheap breakfast, we will be there every day from now on.
The picture right was taken three weeks ago when we passed through and the sun was shining, we are based right next to the harbour.
