A day spent with the flora and fauna

It was forecast rain today but being hardy Brits we just packed a coat. Not far up the coast from where we are staying is a nature reserve which the guide book says is good. It was in a funny run down sort of way. We did six mile circular walk, out along a coastal path then up a big hill and back along the mountainside.

There were several "museums" on route, each with a curator and a few exhibits. They probably get 30 visitors each on a Saturday, much less presumably on a weekday. The selling point of the park was that there were supposed to be large raptors but we did not see any however we did see two large snakes, I can't identify them on the web other they were not vipers so not poisonous, one is pictured above.

Having said our hotel room was nice an quiet we returned this afternoon to a party in full swing in the courtyard outside our room. The band were playing Italian folk songs very loudly and then switched to a not very good rendition of Stairway to Heaven. Fortunately it was an afternoon party, it was quite again by bedtime.

Tomorrow we move on, not sure where to so watch this space.
