Day 1 - Wet and windy

As you can see in the picture above that whilst the beaches are nice you need warm clothes to visit them.  It poured with rain last night and was not much better today.

Fortunately the weather forecast improves greatly tomorrow so we can throw off our jumpers but I am not sure we will be swimming in the sea.

This is the first week of the season and all the tavernas and bars are rushing to complete their closed season repairs and decoration, everywhere there are decorators and workmen who we have to pick our way between to get the all important frappe in the morning and beer in the afternoon and it is noticeable in our hotel that many of the staff are unsure of what to do or say, one barman did not know where their car park was, it is only a small hotel so perhaps he walks in the front door and never explores the back of the building!
