Our local beach

Day 4 - Sunday doing nothing

Sunday was a day of rest, the sun was a bit too hot so we spent the morning reading by the pool before walking down to a beach bar for a snack and a couple of beers. This exercise was repeated in the evening, hectic it was not although the walk up and down to the beach is quite strenuous, probably 500ft.

Just below our hotel is a “Wellness Retreat"  whose web site says it is:

"A family-run boutique hotel which is a sanctuary of tranquillity designed to deliver a meaningful experience whose dining concept focuses on a balanced and healthy diet based on Hippocrates’ teachings, “let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food”.  As a homage to the Mediterranean diet, expect a multi-sensory farm-to-table experience and discover the nourishing side of indulgence”.

Sounds expensive and pretentious, is that why the actress Imelda Staunton and her husband had escaped to the taverna down the road where we ate last night, perhaps they wanted real food.

We have spotted swallows, swifts, jays and martins as well as a few bigger birds but today we saw something very rare – a Greek motorcyclist wearing a crash helmet.
