Saturday 17th

Parking in Santa Cruz is difficult so we decided to use buses for the first five days before we hire a car so today we managed to find the right bus stop and bus to head 20 miles north to a town called Los Sauces from which we walked down to a nice little village called San Andreas which we stayed in a few years ago.

What we had forgotten was that whilst they are only a mile apart it is a 1000ft drop and of course another 1000 feet up again, our aged knees were suffering on the way down and our hearts pounding on the way back up. The aim of the trip was to visit a restaurant next to the salt water pools where the food is simple but tasty, the beer cool and I enjoy watching ladies not wearing much whilst eating my lunch.

Not sure what we are doing tomorrow but I guess we will be glued to the TV at 3pm for the World Cup Final, shame England are not in it.
