Today's bit of culture was a trip to the science museum. It is aimed at small children so ideal for the likes of Gill and I but to give some sense of respectability we took along two grandchildren and their parents as well.
The city of Glasgow must have got a job lot of titanium as all the new buildings (the Science Museum, the SSE Hydro (Glasgow's answer to the O2), and the Armadillo Concert hall are all covered in metal.
The museum consists of three floors of hands on exhibits like the one to the left where Erin has fired a fish up a tube but has not realised that what goes up comes down and the fish is about to land on her head. This is called 'Learning by Discovery'.
Below you can see that Gill is not a very good hampster as she kept falling over in the treadmill.
After all that excitment we all went to 'The Big Shed' which is exactly that, a shed on a trading estate with 20 or so street food vendors offering all sorts of interesting food. We did look out for the Glasgow delicacy of deep fried Mars bars but could not find any.
Below is an optical illusion showing two heads are not necessarily better than one.
