Apart from the scenery (wonderful sandy beaches, shame it is cold and the wind is blowing a gale) there is only one serious tourist attraction in Barra, the airport!  It is unique as the runway is a beach and the two flights a day have to coincide with low tide.
So today we hired E bikes (these are not bikes from the north of England but electric bikes) and cycled the 24 miles round the island with the highlight of the day being a visit to Barra airport to see the planes land and to visit what must be the finest airport cafe in the World.

We both enjoyed the electric bikes, at no time did either of us have to get off and push yet we both seemed to be tired after a days cycling into the wind, in fact despite doing a circular route we seemed to be going into the wind the whole day!
