A week doing very little in Essaouira, Morocco
We have been to Morocco four times before and have always enjoyed the winter sunshine and the complete change of culture.
On our first visit (in 2007) we drove to Essaouira (pronounced Essa-Weara) on a day out from Marrakesh and thought it would make a nice place for a relaxing holiday.  A few weeks ago The Times did a feature about spending a weekend there and that prompted us to dust down the guidebook and book some flights and find somewhere to stay.  We have to fly from Stansted which is a bit of a pain and are then staying right in the middle of the town. For the first time ever we are not renting a car and do not intend to venture further afield - this will probably make this the most boring blog ever written
