Imagine you have driven to a remote camp site next to a beautiful lake, the sun is shining, there are no other people for miles, everything is peaceful so what could possibly go wrong?
Then the truck decided to lock itself with the keys on the front seat! So we were in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by bears, no mobile signal and the emergency satellite phone locked in the car.
There is nothing like a challenge for old adventurers like ourselves. Fortunately one of the doors was not fully closed, I jammed a wedge of wood in the gap and with a long wire which comes with the tent I managed, after about half an hour, to fish the keys up and through the gap. A huge relief, to celebrate our escape we opened a nice bottle of shiraz and sat and watched a beaver swim across the lake.
