We have spent the last two Christmas's outside the UK and enjoyed ourselves so can see no reason to stay at home ever again!
Last year we spent five weeks in Antigua and the previous year nearly nine weeks in La Palma and La Gomera in the Canaries. That was longer because we were not allowed home due to the Covid lock down. With all the strikes threatened in Britain over the holiday period there is little reason to stay, so long as the Spanish workers don't have the same ideas.
So where to go this year? It might be a mistake but we have decided on La Palma again - why? Because it is easy to get to, reasonably priced, the walking is great and the weather tends to better than at home. We are staying in Santa Cruz La Palma for three weeks before spending a week on El Hierro, a much smaller island which we have not been to before. That's the plan but like all good plans it will probably go wrong.
